Teenage girl gang-raped in park

Five boys, aged between 13 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of rape after a 15-year-old girl was attacked in a park in Bolton.

The teenager was attacked in Queen's Park close to Bolton town centre in the early hours of Thursday 24 morning, Greater Manchester Police said.
She has been examined at St Mary's sexual assault centre in Manchester and is receiving counselling.
Officers have been carrying out a forensic search of the area.
Police described the attack as "disturbing".

Iran 'has second enrichment site'

Iran has revealed the existence of a second uranium enrichment plant, the UN nuclear watchdog has confirmed.

Tehran made the announcement earlier this week in a letter to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Mohammed ElBaradei.
Iran has previously acknowledged it has one enrichment plant at Natanz, which IAEA inspectors are monitoring.
The US, UK and France are set to accuse Iran over the plant before Friday's G20 talks, media reports say.
They and other Western nations have long feared that Iran is planning to develop an atomic weapon.
Tehran has always insisted its programme is for peaceful means.
Iran is supposed to have stopped all enrichment under threat of sanctions from the UN Security Council.

Emerging economies get new role

The G20 group of leading and emerging economies is to take on a new role as a permanent body co-ordinating the world economy, a White House statement said.

It will take on the role previously carried out by the developed powerhouses of the G8 group.
The G20 is meeting in the US city of Pittsburgh for a two-day summit.
EU officials also announced a deal to shift the balance of voting in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) towards growing nations such as China.
Currently, China wields 3.7% of IMF votes compared with France's 4.9%, although the Chinese economy is now 50% larger than that of France.
Robert Peston said that the rich nations of North America and Europe formally acknowledging that they no longer have a monopoly of wisdom on what's good for the global economy would be the most important thing to come out of this summit.

Iraqi bomb disposal soldiers die

Fifteen Iraqi soldiers have been killed as they transported confiscated bombs to a disposal area, officials say.

The accident happened in northern Iraq, when one bomb exploded, igniting the other weapons and bombs, killing the soldiers on the truck.
They were driving to a vacant area in Bashika, east of Mosul.
The Iraqi army frequently undertakes controlled explosions in the area to dispose of confiscated weapons away from residential areas.
Mosul is one of the few remaining Iraqi cities where there is still routine insurgent violence.
On Thursday, a soldier and three policemen were shot dead.
Nationally, violence in Iraq saw a spike in August, with the highest number of violent deaths for more than a year.
Iraqi government figures showed that 393 civilians were killed that month, along with about 60 police officers and soldiers.
